PLA

Overview

PLA is short for "polylactic acid", a thermoplastic polyester. PLA is made from renewable, organic sources, which justiifes its labels as a bioplastic. It is popular for FFF (FDM) 3D printing, because it is fairly easy to process, manage, and has decent mechanical properties, ad has little warping. It is arguably the most popular material for FFF. We love working with PLA, since the parts look great, perform well, and support is easy to remove.

Recently PLA+ filaments have become popular that make up for some of the shortcomings of PLA.
