Material Overview

PETG-ESD is a modified PETG thermoplastic developed to dissipate electrostatic charge in electronic manufacturing, assembly, handling and storage applications. The PETG base provides useful toughness, layer adhesion and dimensional stability, while electrically active additives create a controlled path for static charge to dissipate. PETG-ESD should not be treated as an ordinary insulating PETG or as a highly conductive material. Final electrical and mechanical performance depends on the exact material grade, nozzle temperature, geometry, wall thickness, print orientation, surface condition and measurement method.

Material Selection Note

PETG-ESD is suitable where the toughness and processability of PETG must be combined with controlled electrostatic dissipation. The PETG-ESD designation alone does not guarantee one universal resistance value or compliance with every ESD standard. Electrical performance can change with print temperature, orientation, geometry, wall thickness and surface contact. Gramm reviews the required resistance range, grounding method, electronic environment, mechanical load, operating temperature, geometry and validation requirements before manufacturing.
