Material Overview

PPA-CF is a carbon-fibre reinforced polyphthalamide thermoplastic developed for high-performance FDM applications. The semi-aromatic polyamide matrix provides strong thermal, chemical and creep resistance, while carbon-fibre reinforcement increases stiffness, mechanical strength and dimensional stability. Compared with conventional nylon materials, suitable PPA-CF grades generally absorb less moisture and retain their properties more effectively in humid or elevated-temperature environments. Final performance depends on the selected formulation, carbon-fibre content, moisture condition, geometry, print orientation, chamber conditions and production parameters.

Material Selection Note

PPA-CF is suitable where high stiffness, mechanical strength, heat resistance, creep resistance and dimensional stability are required simultaneously. It should not be treated as moisture-proof, fully isotropic or equivalent to metal. Printed performance remains dependent on fibre direction, layer bonding, wall design, chamber conditions and moisture control.
