FLEXIBLE
TPU 82A
A soft, rubber-like thermoplastic polyurethane used for elastic FDM parts requiring flexibility, impact damping, abrasion resistance and reliable recovery after deformation.

Material Overview
TPU 82A is a flexible thermoplastic polyurethane with a nominal Shore A hardness of 82. It combines rubber-like flexibility with the processing characteristics of a thermoplastic. The material is selected for parts that must bend, compress, absorb impact or repeatedly return to their original shape. TPU also provides good abrasion resistance and strong interlayer bonding when processed under controlled conditions. Final performance depends on the selected grade, wall thickness, infill structure, part orientation, operating environment and production parameters.
APPLICATION
Typical Part Types
Flexible seals, gaskets and protective interfaces
Vibration dampers, shock absorbers and isolation pads
Soft grippers, flexible fingers and compliant mechanisms
Protective sleeves, cable guides and strain-relief components
Bumpers, end stops and impact-protection components
Flexible covers, bellows and equipment protection parts
Wheels, rollers and wear-resistant contact components
Custom elastic components for one-off parts and controlled production runs
Material Selection Note
TPU 82A is suitable where a soft, elastic and abrasion-resistant part is required. Component behaviour is strongly influenced by wall thickness, infill, geometry and print orientation. Thicker sections behave more rigidly, while thin walls and open structures allow greater deformation. Gramm reviews the required hardness, loading, compression, movement, chemical exposure, operating temperature and dimensional requirements before manufacturing.
