TPU 95A

Material Overview

TPU 95A is a thermoplastic polyurethane with a nominal Shore A hardness of 95. It is firmer and less compressible than softer TPU grades such as TPU 82A, while retaining useful flexibility, toughness and elastic recovery. The material is commonly selected for components that must withstand repeated bending, impact, abrasion or surface contact without behaving like a fully rigid thermoplastic. Final component performance depends on the selected formulation, wall thickness, infill structure, geometry, print orientation, moisture condition and production parameters.

Material Selection Note

TPU 95A is suitable where a component must remain flexible but should feel firmer and retain its geometry more effectively than softer TPU grades. It should not be treated as equivalent to TPU 82A, TPU 65A or a rigid engineering thermoplastic. Component behaviour changes substantially with wall thickness, infill, geometry and print orientation. Gramm reviews the required hardness, deformation, loading, wear conditions, chemical exposure, operating temperature and dimensional requirements before manufacturing.
